But, though she is unaware of it, she is also four other, quite different people: Nola, the cold independent artist who has a studio in Greenwich Village; Derry, the happy-go-lucky tomboy; Bella, the sexpot with a talent for singing and dancing; and finally Jinx, the hate- filled killer/5.

Without a doubt, The fifth Sally book Fifth Sally was one of the best books I have ever had the fortune to read and it solidified my belief that Daniel Keyes is an excellent author and one of the greats of the twentieth century.

Strictly speaking, this book is not comparable to Keyes' Flowers For Algernon, the novel that he will be remembered by and for good reason, but The Fifth Sally is never-the-less excellent. The tale is of Sally, Bella, Nola, Derry, and Jinx. The interesting thing about these five women is that they all seem to be occupying the same body.5/5(1).

out of 5 stars The Fifth Sally. Reviewed in Germany on 1 June Verified Purchase. I found the whole story a bit corny. After reading other books by Daniel Keyes I found this one less compelling than others.

Somehow the personalities inside Sally did not ring true, and of course there was one, really evil personality among them and Reviews: A schizophrenic waitress, Sally Porter, is under the sway of four other selves--artistic Nola, tomboyish Derry, singer Bella, murderous Jinx--until a patient psychiatrist helps unite them into a final fifth SallyAuthor: Daniel Keyes.

Karina writes that to know her, you must visit the places close to her heart, and in this book she shares some of the moments that have defined her.

Money well spent. This National Book Award finalist is a revealing and beautifully written memoir and family history from acclaimed photographer Sally Mann. In this groundbreaking book, a unique interplay of narrative and image, Mann's preoccupation with family, race, mortality, and the storied landscape of the American South are revealed as almost genetically predetermined, written into her DNA by the family /5(4).
