As Father Helminiak points out, the Bible has no concept of homosexuality, which is a modern concept and word. What one can study is what the Bible says about what we would class as some forms of homosexual behavior. In my previous post, I summarized the Good and Questionable parts of Kevin DeYoung’s new book, What Does the Bible Really Teach about , I think this is quite simply a fantastic book that needs to be read by every Christian. And I probably agree with % of what Kevin : Preston Sprinkle. Question: "What does the Bible say about homosexuality?" Answer: In some people’s minds, being homosexual is as much outside one’s control as the color of your skin and your height. On the other hand, the Bible clearly and consistently declares that homosexual activity is a sin (Genesis –13; Leviticus ; ; Romans –27; 1 Corinthians ).
I highly recommend Kevin DeYoung’s new book, What Does the Bible Really Teach about Homosexuality? (You can get it for less than $10 at also sells them by the case.). The book has a simple structure. The first part is on understanding God’s Word. One Man, One Woman, One Flesh; Those Infamous Cities (Genesis 19) Taking a Strange Book Seriously (Leviti 20). I’ve picked a few of these books, and I hope over the course of the summer to help you be more aware of what’s out there, what might actually be helpful, and what’s probably not worth your time.
